President commissions state of art medical theatre in Amuria district

President Yoweri Museveni has highly commended the administration and medical staff of Ongutoi Health Centre in Amuria district for ensuring the accountability of the drugs remitted by Government to the facility.

The President now in Teso Sub-region, was today commissioning Ongutoi Health Centre III state of the art operation centre in Abarilela, Amuria district. The facility was constructed through public and private partnership arangements. It was provided by the High Adventure Ministries of Canada’s Cross-land School of New Market.

President Museveni was reacting to a revelation by State Minister for Disaster Preparedness and Refugees, Mr. Musa Ecweru, who disclosed that the health centre buys drugs worth Shs.1.5 million and that consignment can treat patients for one month.

The President thanked Mr. Musa Ecweru for his initiative of making friends in Canada and for inviting them to open up a modern theatre powered by solar system in a remote area of Teso.

Mr. Museveni advised the people of Teso Sub-region in general and Amuria district in particular, to prioritize household income generating activities.
