President commissions Simba Cement Factory

President Yoweri Museveni has commissioned Simba Cement factory in Mukuju Sub-County in Tororo District in Eastern Uganda.  The factory, which currently employs about 400 workers, was built in two and half years by the Mepani Technical Services, at an estimated cost of US$55 million. It is a second cement factory in Tororo District and its operationalization is expected have cement price reduced to Shs.25,000/= per 50-kgs bag.

Government unveils three-point proposal to end Apaa land conflicts

President Yoweri Museveni has unveiled a three-point proposal to the people of Amuru and Adjumani districts currently involved in the Apaa land conflict, saying the proposals will provide a win-win situation specifically for people who lived on the land before 1963 when the colonialists drew the boundaries and 2002 when government surveyors returned to the land to open up park land boundaries.
