Wealth creation must be driven by the private sector

Nations can only get rich if they create conditions conducive enough for the private sector to thrive, President Museveni has said. Speaking at the Kenya-Uganda Business Forum at the Sarova White Sands Hotel in Mombasa on Wednesday, President Museveni noted that for a long time there had been a clash of views on how countries could get wealthy but the matter was now resolved with the position that it was the private sector to lead this push.

Ugandan and Kenyan traders will be the biggest beneficiaries after their two countries yesterday signed a raft of agreements meant to ease trade, cement political ties and improve their social/cultural connections. President Yoweri Museveni is in the South African city of Pretoria for a two day SADC Solidarity Conference on Western Sahara. The 38th Ordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of SADC approved the convening of a Conference on Solidarity with the Saharawi people. South Africa and Namibia are co-hosting the SADC Solidarity Conference with Western Sahara.

President lauds people of Sebei on fighting household poverty

President Yoweri Museveni has applauded the people of Sebei Sub-Region in Eastern Uganda for waking up to his call of addressing the issue of household income. He said that by embracing modern agriculture, the people of the area have come out in full force to fight household poverty.
