Museveni, Mbeki discuss Horn of Africa integration

President Yoweri Museveni and former South African President, Thabo Mbeki, have had a meeting and reviewed the progress of the Horn of Africa member countries’ security, economic and political challenges as the region strives to realize regional integration. 

“Government is committed to building oil refinery” – Museveni

President Yoweri Museveni has given assurances that the Government is fully committed to building an oil refinery in the country.  “The upstream is on course and the final investment decision. We are working to ensure that the oil industry starts production. Land cannot be a problem. The building of a refinery is a minimum. The target is to engage the oil companies for the pipeline,” he revealed.

President kicks off SECAM jubilee celebrations

President Yoweri Museveni has urged Christian and Muslim leaders on the African continent to engage their flocks by sensitising them about the law of economic productivity. “Unlike countries in the western world, Africa has lagged behind because it has lived a situation of under-production and under-consumption. This is is a problem to both the church and government, for instance citizens do not contribute enough to the church”, he said.

President Museveni meets Magufuli on 'pilgrimage' to Tanzania
