Ethiopian Premier begins 2-day State visit

The new Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopian, Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali, has begun a 2-day state visit to Uganda at the invitation of President Yoweri Museveni. Premier Ali Abiy Ahmed Ali, who arrived in the country this morning, was welcomed by President Yoweri Museveni at State House, Entebbe.

President attends martyrs day service

President Yoweri Museveni has given assurances to the Church of Uganda that no one will take away Church House from the Church as long as he is still alive. The President, accompanied by the 1st Lady, was speaking at the Anglican Shrine in Namugongo, Wakiso District during the annual Uganda Martyrs’ celebrations. Kigezi Diocese led the celebrations for this year’s Martyrs’ Day celebrations.

President Yoweri Museveni has said that Uganda will forever remember the contribution made by former President of Tanzania, the late Mwalimu Julius Nyerere, in the liberation of the country. “By observing the 1stof June each year, we, the Uganda government with the support of the Catholic Church, are signifying our appreciation to Mwalimu,” he said.

President Yoweri Museveni has reminded wananchi of their task to eradicate poverty from their homes. “The people have the task of making personal initiatives to eradicate poverty from their homesteads. The Government has been allocating Shs.365 billion per annum to NAADS, these efforts, will have impact if indivuduals take advantage of these resources and apply them at house hold level. The Youth Fund has been getting Shs. 80 billion per annum....

PRESIDENT MAKES HISTORIC RETURN TO MONTEPUEZ

On a normal day, Montepuez, a town in the northern Cabo Delgado province of Mozambique, is a quiet settlement with its residents going about their work in the gardens or nearby mines. Saturday 19th, however, was no normal day. By 7am, the streets were teeming with hundreds of excited people, many carrying the Mozambican and Ugandan flags, singing and dancing.

President begins 3-day State Visit to Mozambique

President Museveni has arrived in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, for a three-day state visit on the invitation of his counterpart, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi. On arrival at Maputo International Airport this afternoon, President Museveni was received by the Mozambique Foreign Affairs Minister, Jose Pacheco, the Agriculture Minister, Higini Marrule and a host of other senior government officials.

Do not solicit fuel for ambulances from patients - Museveni

President Yoweri Museveni has warned health workers against soliciting fuel for ambulances from patients and directed that districts and health facilities must include  fuel and maintenance of vehicles in their budgets to ensure dedicated service. “Districts must allot fuel for the ambulance and Health Centres must also budget for fuel. It is not right to ask patients for fuel because it defeats the purpose of my intentions,” he said.
