Uganda and Tanzania Sign Oil Pipe Line Agreement

President Museveni and President Magufuli have signed the East African Crude Oil Pipe Line Agreement(EACOP) as an expression of intent to go ahead with the construction of the1400km oil pipe line from Hoima to Tanga port. This followed bilateral talks between both parties at State House, Dar-es-alaam where they discussed modalities for the implementation of the pipeline and agreed to the terms of the construction.

President Museveni in Dar for EAC Summit

President Museveni has this morning arrived in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania for the 18th Ordinary Summit of EAC Heads of State. He was received at Julius Nyerere International Airport by Prof Sospester Muhongo, the Tanzania Minister for Energy.  Also present were First Deputy Prime Minister and EAC Affairs Minister Kirunda Kivejinja, Foreign Affairs Minister Sam Kutesa, EALA Speaker Dan Kidega and outgoing Ambassador Dorothy Hyuha.

President Yoweri Museveni commended the European Union (EU) for their solidarity with the people of Uganda and observed that the partnership has helped Uganda to recover economically. He expressed appreciation for the assistance that Uganda has been receiving from Europe but stressed that it should be more focussed on the improvement of the economy.

Museveni woos investors as German companies, Uganda sign pact

President Museveni has asked German companies to invest in Uganda, saying the country offers a perfect investment environment. The President, who is attending the World Economic Forum in Durban, South Africa, made the call  as he witnessed the signing of Memoranda of Understanding between two German companies and the Uganda government on the sidelines of the forum.

Political will minus strategy won’t develop Africa, says President Museveni

President Museveni challenges Accountants to fight corruption

President Yoweri Museveni has challenged accountants to fight corruption. He also urged them to keep accounts properly as one of the ways to ensure that Uganda registers further growth. “Keep accounts properly, fight corruption then your country will grow. Accountants must record correctly. If they are faithful in their profession, Uganda will move forward,” he observed.

Presidents Museveni, Mbasogo call for cooperation among oil and gas producing African countries

President Yoweri Museveni has called for more cooperation among oil and gas producing African countries. He was this morning addressing the joint oil and gas convention and regional expo at the Kampala Serena Hotel. The President of Equatorial Guinea, Mr. Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, also addressed the convention before he concluded his 2-day state visit to Uganda.
