President receives Kuwaiti, Australian & South Sudanese Speakers

President Yoweri Museveni has said that entrepreneurs and business companies from the Arab world are welcome to invest and do business in Uganda especially in the areas of food processing, textiles and value addition, among others. He, therefore, called on Arabs to tap into the available business opportunities in the country as Uganda is well endowed with a lot of raw materials so that the country is further empowered to create more sustainable wealth.

The President was meeting the Kuwaiti Parliamentary Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ahmed al Sadoon and his delegation who called on him yesterday at State House, Entebbe.

The President warmly welcomed the Kuwaiti delegation to Uganda and informed them that Uganda has always enjoyed close relationship with the countries of the Arab world adding that this should continue.

Speaker al Sadoon saluted President Museveni and the Government of Uganda for the warm reception extended to him and his delegation since their arrival in the country to attend the 126th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly that was opened by the President last Saturday at the Commonwealth Resort Hotel in Munyonyo. The one-week long Assembly is slated to end tomorrow Thursday 5th April at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

Mr. Museveni and the Speaker of the Australian House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Peter Skipper, deliberated on number bilateral issues between Australia and Uganda. Rt. Hon. Slipper thanked the President for hosting him and his delegation.

Later, the Speaker of Parliament of the Republic of South Sudan, Rt. Hon. James Wani Igga, who was accompanied by several MPs, discussed with President Museveni a wide range of regional issues especially political, social and economic developments. The meetings were attended by the Deputy Parliamentary Speaker Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanya.
