President cautions people of Kasese against opposition lies

Monday 6th August 2012

President Yoweri Museveni has urged the people of Kasese district to guard against the lies that are deliberately propagated by the opposition parties. He said the opposition is doing that with the intention of de-campaigning the National Resistance Movement government. He noted that the biggest problem of the people of Kasese is telling lies which, he said, should stop adding “I am sorry for the leaders who are liars.”

The President, who is also the National Chairman of the NRM Party, was today addressing 2 separate campaign rallies at Kabatunda Primary School and at Kitswamba Boma Ground respectively in Kyabarungira Sub-County, Busongora Constituency.

Mr. Museveni told the people of the area that the NRM government is ready to operationalize the proposed three districts to be curved out of Kasese district. He noted that the failure by the people of Kasese to decide and agree on the establishment of the new districts, has delayed the process of granting the new districts.

The President refuted FDC leader Dr.  Kiiza Besigye’s allegations that NRM government would not grant the new districts to the people of Kasese. He told the people that the Movement always sticks to its word as exemplified by the restoration of cultural institutions that had been abolished by former regime and in which the Rwenzururu cultural institution has also been restored.

The President urged the people of Kasese to vote for the NRM flag bearer Rehema Muhindo so that the barrier previously created by the election of opposition legislators in Kasese is broken by the wananchi of Kasese through voting NRM Party flag bearer Rehema Muhindo in the 8th August Women by-elections who can work easily with the NRM government.

He noted that when opposition Wifred Kiiza was in the August House, her specialty was only to abuse the President because, he noted, “she does not how to speak”. He pledged provision of an ambulance, medical doctors and equipment for Rwesande Health Centre 4.

NRM flag bearer, Rehema Muhindo, urged the people of Kasese to elect her MP because she will articulate with regard to matters affecting Kasese and reach out more easily to the President and Government to solicit for development programmes for the area.
