The Duke of Kent Prince Edward is in Uganda to attend the Golden Jubilee celebrations to take place on Tuesday 9th October 2012.He will join other leaders from several countries worldwide who will attend the historic ceremony at Kololo ceremonial grounds in Kampala, where the Union Jack was lowered and the Uganda flag raised 50 years ago.
Uganda gained her Independence from Britain on October the 9th 1962.Prince Edward who is a member of the British royal family was born on the 9th October 1935 a date that marks a great significance in the history of his life time as far as the Independence of Uganda is concerned.
His Highness the Duke of Kent Prince Edward who is a cousin to Queen Elizabeth the Second, and his entourage, arrived in the country early this morning aboard a British Airways flight from London. He was received at Entebbe International Airport by the Minister of Water and Environment Professor Ephraim Kamuntu.
