President Yoweri Museveni has said government will sack people who frustrate investors, emphasizing that the most important actors in the economy are the investors and consumers.
“We shall sack people who frustrate investments. In any economy investors and consumers are the most important actors, civil servants are only facilitators of these investments, they should frustrate them,” he said.
The President who was in Kisoro for the commemoration of Uganda’s Independence hero, the late John Kale, officially commissioned the Crane Bank Branch Kisoro branch owned by the Ruparelia Group of Companies.
“I commend Sudhir for such an investment and call upon all of you to use this facility to save and invest in your businesses. The facility will not only provide jobs to the people but will also provide a market for the produce like potatoes and milk for the workers,” he said.
The President later officiated at the ground breaking ceremony for an Irish potato factory in Kisoro owned by businessman Tom Mugenga, before officially commissioning the Muhabura FM radio station in the district.
He urged people to engage in modern agro production for improved harvests to boost incomes and encouraged them to invest in high quality crops like tea and citrus.
