President receives CITIC investors from China.

President Yoweri Museveni this morning received a delegation of investors from China CITIC construction Co.Ltd led by the chairperson of the firm Ms.Hong Bo who called on him at his home in Rwakitura Kiruhura district.

CITIC construction company Ltd -based in Beijing-China specializes in construction work,infrastructure development and the processing of grain like maize among others.

Ms. Hong Bo who had just jetted into the country with her delegation from a business trip in Johannesburg - South Africa,explained to President Museveni that her company deals in the construction of industries,and satellite cities in Africa, Latin America and other countries world wide.

Ms. Bo, who was overwhelmingly impressed by the country's' beautiful scenery and climate added that they also cover areas of energy production, value addition to crops, construction of roads, ports and railway lines.

President Museveni welcomed Ms. Hong Bo and her delegation to Uganda and assured her of governments full support on the mufti-sectoral ventures that will be identified. The President asked his guests to also take interest in the construction of institutional houses for the ministry of health and Education.

"Private sector is already addressing the housing  sector. but we can discuss institutional houses for teachers and health workers who stay far away from their work places and use public means of transport which wastes a lot of time," he remarked.

The President further asked Ms. Bo to explore the sector of iron ore mining and its processing into steel which is in high demand for infrastructural development like the building of hydro-power stations and the railway lines. He said infrastructure such as roads, hydro power plants, etc   serve the country for a long time and acts as a base
for economic growth.

The Minister of State for lands Ms. Idah Nantaba attended the meeting.
