President fulfills his pledge to North Ankole Diocese

State House Uganda - NewsState House Uganda - News President Yoweri Museveni handed over 2 new double cabin pick-ups yesterday to the Bishop of North Ankole Diocese the Rt.Reverend John Muhanguzi, fulfilling his pledge made in 2011 to support women projects in the diocese. The President performed the handover ceremony at his country home in Rwakitura, Kiruhura District.

One of the vehicles is for the Mothers Union in North Ankole Diocese that will be used to support activities of the Mothers Union that include among others counseling women in the diocese on domestic violence issues that are on the rise in the diocese, coordinating activities in the 53 centers in the diocese that will also dwell mainly on issues of hygiene, and sanitation, bible studies and care for school drop outs. The second double cabin pick up is for the Education Department in the diocese.

The Bishop of North Ankole Diocese the Rt. Reverend John Muhangizi, who was accompanied by Canon James Hende, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to President Yoweri Museveni for fulfilling the pledge. The Prelate prayed to God to provide the President with wisdom and long life to lead this country to the direction of permanent peace and freedom.
