Presidents Museveni, Muhamud hold talks on Somalia

President Yoweri Museveni has this afternoon received and held discussions with visiting Somali President Hassan Sheikh Muhamud who called on him at State House Entebbe.

President Hassan Sheikh briefed President Museveni on the stabilization programme and challenges with expansion in some areas in Somalia.

President Museveni is widely consulted by global leaders on peace and security in Africa.

"You are a true African brother. Thank you for standing with Somalia," President Hassan Sheikh grateful to Uganda's intervention to restore peace and security in Somalia.

Uganda is one of the African Countries that has contributed the biggest number of soldiers to Somalia under the umbrella of the African Mission to Somalia AMISOM to keep peace in the war torn Country.

In attendance was Brigadier Charles Angina, and Inspector General of Police General Kale Kayihura.

Uganda is a leading contributor of a peace-keeping contingent in Somalia under the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).
