President receives outgoing Israeli envoy

President Yoweri Museveni has received the outgoing Israeli Ambassador to Uganda, Mr. Gil Haskel.

The envoy called on the President at State House Nakasero, last evening, to take leave of him at the end of his tour of duties in the country.

President Museveni wished Ambassador Haskel the best of luck in his new assignments back home.

The envoy who commended President Museveni for his leadership, informed him that a number of Ugandan students under Israeli scholarship arrangements, will be going to Israel to undertake training in agriculture.

He said that although he was now leaving for new assignments at home, he will continue to be in touch with Uganda.

Ambassador Haskel has also been Israeli envoy to Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi and Seychelles since February 2012.

Uganda and Israel have enjoyed friendly relations since 1994 when political and economic ties were renewed.

Israeli companies operate in the fields of construction, infrastructure, communications and Information Technology, agriculture, water management and other sectors in Uganda.
