President Museveni in Nairobi to discuss DRC, South Sudan security concerns

President Yoweri Museveni is currently in the Kenyan capital Nairobi to discuss emerging security issues in DRC, CAR and South Sudan with his ICGLR counterparts.

The meeting will be chaired by Ethiopia's Prime Minister, Hailemariam Desalegn.

International Conference on the Great Lakes' Region (ICGLR) members include; Angola, Uganda, South Sudan, Burundi, Central African Republic, Rwanda, Tanzania and Burundi.

President Museveni also held a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta before participating in consultative meeting on LAPPSETT project.

LAPSETT is the Lamu Port Sudan-Ethiopia-Transport corridor for road networks, railway and oil pipeline development.

LAPPSET, which is expected to be completed by 2020, will cost $22bn.

Also present is the South Sudan President, Salva Kiir.
