“The late Simbwa has been a Prince, a Muganda and a Ugandan. That is why I was able to work with him for a long time,”

President Yoweri Museveni has paid his condolences to the family of the late Prince David Simbwa at his home in Kabowa Lubaga Division in Kampala district. He delivered his message this morning as he paid his last respects to the deceased. Prince Simbwa, who was 80 years old, passed on at Nakasero Hospital on 6th November 2014 because of kidney complications. The Prince has been the only surviving uncle of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.

“The late Simbwa has been a Prince, a Muganda and a Ugandan. That is why I was able to work with him for a long time,” he said.

Describing him as a good friend, President Museveni noted that at the age of 80 years he was not very old. He informed mourners that he sent the Prince to India where he underwent a kidney transplant but added that the transplant unfortunately caused a number of problems. He said that the drugs that were administered after surgery caused side effects saying that the treatment progressed into a blood clot that led to his death.

The family members who were represented by Prince Namugala and Princess Elina Zalwango, saluted President Museveni for caring for the late Simbwa.

Buganda Katikkiro, Mr. Peter Mayiga commended the President for sparing time to pay his condolences.
