President meets UAE’s Foreign Affairs and Energy Ministers

President Yoweri Museveni, currently on an official working visit to the United Arab Emirates, has met the UAE Foreign Affairs Minister, His Highness Sheikh Abdullar bin Zayed Al Nahyed, at his Emirates Palace Hotel residence in Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Abdullar welcomed the President to the UAE and told him that his visit will cement the already very warm and cordial relationship between the two countries. The President and his visitor discussed a wide ranging of issues of bilateral concern between their 2 countries.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullar bin Zayed told President Museveni that his country will be sending a Government Ministerial Delegation to Uganda by April 2015 to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the areas of Energy, Infrastructural development, agro and food processing especially fruits, grain and coffee processing for the export market and international cooperation. The meeting was attended by State Minister for International Affairs, Hon. Okello Oryem and Uganda's Ambassador to the UAE, Ms. Florence Wakiya.

President Museveni also met the Minister of Energy, Engineer Suhail Mohamed Faraj who was accompanied by the CEO and Managing Director of Mubadala Development Company, Mr. Khaldoon Al Mubarak. The company is responsible for the oil sector development in the country. The two guests discussed with the President bilateral cooperation in the oil sector exploration, the development of  the crude oil pipeline line and capacity building for Ugandans engaged in the exploration of the oil industry. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Energy and Minerals, Hon Irene Muloni and her Permanent Secretary Kabangambe Kalisa. President Museveni had earlier received the President of the UAE Human Food Division Mr. Haussam Mahmoud. They discussed the development of the agro and food processing industry in the country. The meeting was attended by the Minister of State for Animal Industry, Hon. Bright Rwamirama.
